More Information

Wild Ennerdale is a partnership between people and organisations led by The National Trust (NT), The Forestry Commission (FC) and United Utilities (UU) being the primary land owners in The Ennerdale Valley and Natural England, the Government's advisor on the environment.

Over the last five years the partnership has seen its work develop and broaden as individuals such as farm tenants, local businesses, the YHA, local people and volunteers have caught onto the excitement and vision that the original partners have developed.

Pease read our briefing note for more information about the Partnership or our latest Newsletter which is distributed quarterly to around 550 local households with thanks to the local Ecumenical Church Magazine team.

In October 2011 Wild Ennerdale was presented to an International Forestry Conference in Edinburgh. You can view the presentation or watch a video recording via the link on the Conference homepage above the presentations. Ennerdale is in Thursday session 1 about 37 minutes in.

Ennerdale Location:

Ennerdale is a remote valley situated in West Cumbria around 10 miles inland of the coast at Whitehaven. See our location map or read more about Ennerdale from our Stewardship Plan.
