Background

Ennerdale Bridge nestles at the western end of the Ennerdale Valley and lake and acts as Gate Keeper to Wild Ennerdale.

Not withstanding the idyllic setting of Ennerdale Bridge it has suffered a number of disappointments that have left the village without the post office and shop that it once had. At the end of Day one of the famous Wainwright Coast to Coast trail a walker cannot even buy a postcard, stamp or a plaster for blistered feet.

The Ennerdale Community Hub project is a passionate community organisation with an exciting vision to see not only traditional village services restored but the creation of a hub of activitywhich will revitalise the village for residents andvisitors alike.

Feasibility Study

Ennerdale and Kinniside Parish Council is leading the delivery of a Community Hub Feasibility Study in partnership with the Coummnity Hub Project. All tenders are in and the sucessfull contractor has been awarded the contract.

The Wild Ennerdale Partnership very much supports this project as we look to deliver our vision of allowing "the valley to develop as a wilder place for the benefit of people..."
