Ennerdale Time and Place Arts Project: Schools Workshops:

We are currently working with Ennerdale and Kinnisde Priamry School and Montreal Primary School. This project is linked to the Archive service’s Learning Links project. A teacher from each school has visited the Record’s office in Whitehaven and spent time researching into the history of the valley. Jane Dudman will be working with 2 classes from each school, exploring the research that they have collected about the history of the valley and using visual and performance mediums to interpret this research.

The work that pupils will do will vary from visual art, to choral speaking, and creative writing to performance work. All of the artwork that is produced will become part of the final exhibition to be held in the valley on Saturday 12 July.

Other Schools

Eaglesfield Paddle School visit the valley evey year, cycling from the school with the children. In 2006 the children were encouraged to each write a poem about Ennerdale and you can read some of them here (2mb powerpoint)
