Ennerdale Time and Place Arts Project: Workshops and events
The project will involve a series of workshops being delivered to a range of participant groups, focussing on a specific element of the project.
Ennerdale Stories:
Ennerdale Stories is a series of workshops for adults, which will enable you to play with the idea of story in the Ennerdale Valley by writing, telling, voicing and performing your take on what you see around you. It is hoped that these workshops will encourage participants to create individual and group pieces of work, some of which may develop outside of the structured workshops.
Story Making – Saturday 26th July
The first workshop, Story making, took place on Saturday 26 January. Listen to the stories created at the workshops and view pictures of the day by clicking the above link.
Storytelling - Saturday 1 March 2008
Working together and individually we will invent new ways to share our experiences of the valley, by whispering across the settlement ruins or shouting across the expanse of water, from Bowness Knot to Anglers Crag.
Voice in the Environment - Saturday 12 April 2008
Come and put your voice to the Ennerdale stories, from a wordless whisper in someone’s ear to a rabble choir. Take the opportunity to explore how to use your voice in the outdoors.
All workshops will be based at Beckfoot Barn and in the Ennerdale Valley, and will be lead by three artists: Jane Dudman (fine artist), Ian Douglas (story teller) and Steve Lewis (musician).
Exploring the valley and creating artwork: Saturday 26 April 2008
These workshops will be targeted at family groups. The workshops will involve families exploring the valley together and expressing their views about being in the valley.
Final Exhibition:
All of the work generated through these workshops will be included in or contribute to the final exhibition in the Ennerdale Valley on Saturday 12th July 2008. Further details about the final exhibition will be posted nearer the time..
